Did everyone had fun observing and participating with their child during observation week.
I sure did at least for 2 of my 3 kids. Jolly observed Theresa in Mrs. Park's class, hence I have no first hand report to blog about.
Isabelle in Mrs. Hepler class was doing her lessons with a lot of focus compared to me who was distracted by the Bolt conversation that was going on and a spill on the floor. Isabelle was not fazed by the going ons around her. Isabelle and I did a snowman coloring, a number tracing, used our tweezers on some innocent looking sardines and we read a book about bugs together. It was wonderful to have a one-on-one with Isabelle as it gets hard with 3 kids around all the time. Seeing a side of her working well and focusing on her lessons. I am very proud of Isabelle and all that she has accomplished under Mrs. Hepler's guidance.
Jonathan in Ms. Lauren's class was surprisingly collected. I had envisioned him just clamoring to go home the moment he saw me, just goes to show that what we fear might not be reality. Jonathan and I worked on several different puzzles, used a little hand sweeper to clear up little debris from the floor, polished a shoe and even squeegeed the classroom mirror. Jonathan is growing up learning new skills every day and confidence in doing them. He still has a lot to learn and under Ms. Lauren's firm but patient hand, he will get there.
Ah, how I love school. Glorious school...
