Thanksgiving festivities 2009

It will be on Tuesday this year and talking to your child I am sure there is talk of juicy treats, crafts and seating arrangement decision that your child is preparing with their friends and directresses all for the Thanksgiving festivities.

Yes, they poured and mixed and slaved over the preparations.

We have previously decided with our girls which parent was going to attend which party. Thus my daughter has prepared a lovely threaded necklace just for me. There is pumpkin bread and chocolate chip cookies in one class. And the famous whole wheat bread in another.

Preschool starts @ 10:45 am
Toddlers starts @ 11:15am
Elementary starts @ 12:15am

Arrive punctually and watch your child wait for you eagerly holding their little handmade necklace in the palm of their hands - just for you. It melts my heart every time.

The children will also perform a few Thanksgiving songs with their classmates before lunch.

Last but not least don't forget your cameras.

Lenape Village

My girls went on their field trip today to the Lenape Village.

My question of "What did you see there?" brought forth tons of information. That is because I am sure what they saw at Lenape Village was more than they could grasp.

(1) Lenape Village is where they keep the Indians. Okay, that was so wrong on so many levels but it came from my 5 year old daughter so don't hold it against her.

(2) They built their houses from sticks.

(3) They sleep on animal skins. (5 year old wondering was the Disney store closed they could not find some decent blankets to use?)

(4) And they sleep on the floor. There are bugs on the floor why would someone sleep on the floor says my 5 year old.

(5) We saw Indian corn. They make cornmeal out of it.

(6) They eat meat too just like you, Daddy, Isabelle and Jonathan. I was puzzled until I realized that although she does eat chicken, fish and pork she does not consider it meat... Why I have no idea?

What did your child see at Lenape Village?

Uno Fundraising Night

A time for families of CHBC to break bread together and Uno gives the school a small percentage of our sales for the night. So, mark your calendars and meet us there. There will be more talking than eating but it will be fun filled. The kids love just meeting up with their friends outside of the school.

UPDATE: YES, its the back room for us CHBC families and friends. Just let the staff know...

Last year we had the back room in Uno reserved for us, let me check with our FSA Head this year if its still the case. It was like a private party and no one got lost.

Where: Chicago Uno @ Oxford Valley
Date: November 10 2009
Time: 4pm until closing

If you are unable to join us, you can grab a takeout but do not forget to mention its with CHBC.

Finally before you stop reading this post because it sounds like your mother-in-law,
don't forget to BUY SCRIP from the office for Uno Night. That's just double earnings for CHBC.
