There is a really nice tradition in Children's House and that is when your child's birthday comes along, you can donate a book to your child's class library in his/her name. There are little book labels that your child can write their names on and date the book.
My donation this year comes about a week late, my excuse being sick kids at home. But thank you, Gretchen Merchiore (Sydney's mom) who brought the topic up during FSA night.
If you flip through the books your child brings home during bag day, most likely you are reading a book donated to the school from a child who studied/studies at Children's House. The generosity of parents before provided for that book, so if the opportunity arise please donate a book or two to your class library or school library so that all our children are able to explore the wonders and knowledge that only reading can bring.

Tricia-
I was not aware of this program. How do we give the book in honor of our child's birthday? Who to contact?
Thanks, Andre
You can just purchase a book and your child teacher can bring it in. I think some of the teachers allowed my girls to write their names on the labels for the books.
You can decide to donate a book to either the school library or your class library. Or both even.
